SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway automation and telemechanics for control over train movement. Method includes movement of trains from departure station containing station equipment, on the haul divided into constant number of block sections with constant lengths and with equipment of signal points of automatic block, determining the length of the train at departure from the departure station and changing, depending on the result, the number and total length of the block sections of the haul such that the longer the length of the dispatched train, the smaller the number of block sections and their total length, and vice versa. At that, as the train moves along the haul, the number of block sections released by the composition is determined and this information is transmitted to the station equipment, on the basis of which the subsequent change of the number of block sections and their total length for the next train sent from the station is carried out.

EFFECT: higher transmission capacity of haul for different lengths of trains.
