PHOTON NEUTRALISER FOR NEUTRAL PARTICLE BEAM INJECTORS Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC H01J27/24

Abstract RU 2696268 C2

FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a resonance-free photo-neutralizer for neutral particle-based beams injectors based on negative ions. Design of the resonance-free photo-neutralizer provides non-resonant photon accumulation, wherein photon trajectory gets confused and enclosed in definite volume of space, that is in photon trap. Trap is preferably formed by two smooth mirror surfaces facing each other, wherein at least one of the surfaces is concave. In the simplest version, the trap has an elliptical shape. Trap holding area is an area near a family of normals which are common for both mirror surfaces. Photons with sufficiently small deviation angles from the nearest common normal are retained. Depending on certain conditions, the shape of the trap can be spherical, elliptical, cylindrical, toroidal or can represent a combination of these versions.

EFFECT: technical result is possibility of operation of photo-neutralizer without laser radiation sources of high quality for pumping photon target, as well as adjustment and adjustment of optical elements.
