FIELD: transportation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of diagnosing condition of wheels of a rail vehicle of any rail vehicle (1). To calculate current wear value within a given interval using at least one measuring system (4) is at least one load value of any type of wheel load of rail vehicle, and using mathematical model (7) from said at least one load value, as well as from zero measurement (6) or intermediate measurement of initial value of wear, current value of wear of wheels of rail vehicle is determined.
EFFECT: result is reliable prediction on necessity of next maintenance of wheels of rail vehicle, it is possible to give conclusion at any moment relative to state of wheels of rail vehicle.
