FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of forming an electrolyte for a solid-oxide fuel cell on a base metal base, to an electrolyte obtained using said method, to a fuel cell and a fuel cell stack, to use of a fuel cell for producing electric power. According to the invention, the electrolyte formation method for a solid-oxide fuel cell on a bearing metal base includes: combining powdered doped cerium dioxide with a sintering additive and a solvent to obtain a suspension; depositing suspension on anode layer; drying to produce a non-sintered electrolyte; and calcination of the non-sintered electrolyte with formation of sintered electrolyte; wherein the suspension contains powdered doped cerium dioxide with a physical property selected from bimodal particle size distribution, surface area determined by the BET method in range of 15 m2/g to 40 m2/g, spherical morphology, or their combinations.
EFFECT: technical result is higher density of electrolyte using cost-effective method.
