FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy and can be used in production of foamed metal articles. Foamed workpiece in the form of metal alloy granules and a foaming substance are introduced into the mold cavity, and the liquid with density higher than the bulk density obtained as a result of foam is supplied to it. Fluid has temperature higher than fusion point of metal alloy, heat transfer to particles of foamed workpiece takes place, then its expansion takes place, at that, it is supported by liquid. During expansion, at least part of liquid is pushed out by expansion from form through hole. Fluid makes it possible to control pressure of environment, as well as foaming substance, which helps to accurately determine expansion moment. Molten substance can partially remain in the mold in such a way that the hybrid structure of the component is produced.
EFFECT: invention enables foaming by a faster method, ensures uniformity of metal foam, simplifies operation with molds and reduces power consumption during the whole process.
