FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a coating material, in particular a borated powder for plasma sputtering. It can be used for formation of wear-resistant coatings. Borated powder particles for plasma sputtering consist of a core and a boron-containing shell which contains boron in amount of 0.1–0.95 wt. % and additionally contains 0.1–0.95 wt. % of silicon.
EFFECT: ensuring plasticity of the sputtered material in the coating, which is determined from the value of microhardness.
