FIELD: oil industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to oil refining and petrochemistry. Described is a method of purifying alkylsalicylic acids obtained by reacting salicylic acid with α-olefins containing from 16 to 18 carbon atoms, in the presence of a catalyst. Cleaning is carried out by sublimation of unreacted salicylic acid contained in the reaction mass alkylation at temperature of 150 °C to 130 °C, pressure 0.1–0.001 MPa for 1.0–3.0 h and subsequent collection of acid desublimate in catcher.
EFFECT: technical result is isolation of a valuable product - salicylic acid, which without additional purification can be returned to the process, which significantly improves economic and environmental performance of the process, while improving the quality of the obtained product.
