METHOD FOR SURGICAL MANAGEMENT OF NASOPHARYNGEAL ANGIOFIBROMA Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61B17/24

Abstract RU 2697242 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly to otorhinolaryngology, and can be used for treating nasopharyngeal angiofibroma. Incision is made on the vestibule of the nose along the edge of the pear-shaped hole with transition to the bottom of the nose and the anterior segment of the nasal septum. Middle conchas are removed and conhopexy of lower concha is performed. Mucosal mobilization of the nasal septum is performed. Edges of pear-shaped hole are beaten. Fistulas of nasal cavity are created with maxillary sinus. Additional incision on the vestibule of the oral cavity is used to expose the lower and posterior parts of the external bone wall of the maxillary sinus through a narrow tunnel between the bone and soft tissues of the cheek. Then, throughbone notches are made. Sinus wall is lifted together with the soft tissues. Upper edge of the wall is broken. Then sagittal notches from above and from below mobilize sidewall of nose, breaking it in depth. Mobilized sidewall of the nose is inserted into the maxillary sinus cavity. Mobilized nasal septum is displaced to the opposite wall of the nose.

EFFECT: method provides improved quality of treatment of patients with nasopharyngeal angiofibroma by providing a sufficiently wide angle of surgical action and preservation of functional structures of upper jaw and nasal cavity.
