FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to an oil level determining device and a method of controlling said level. Proposed device comprises oil level sensor 500, signal processor and controller. Sensor 500 is installed in compressor 1 to measure capacitance value varied in accordance with oil level contained in compressor 1 in multiple positions. Processor is configured to convert a plurality of capacitance values measured by the oil level sensor into a plurality of frequency signals corresponding to a plurality of capacitance values, respectively. Controller is configured to compare difference between output values of frequency signals received from processor, with control value and determination of oil level in accordance with comparison result.
EFFECT: group of inventions is aimed at providing more accurate determination of oil level.
