FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, particularly to metal forming, and can be used for production of wire from high-strength titanium-based alloys. Proposed method comprises production of ingot, its hot deformation for multiple drawing at room temperature with intermediate annealing to produce wire of required size and final heat treatment at temperature of (0.5÷0.7)Tpp °C. Before drawing one or 5÷9 of workpieces are placed in holes of container of round cross-section from plastic alloys, which is closed at ends with covers from plastic alloys, obtained composite structure with specified dimensions is subjected to hot deformation by pressing with deformation degree of 80÷95 % and cold rolling with degree of deformation of 75÷95 %, intermediate annealing at drawing is carried out in atmosphere of air at temperature Tpp-(20÷150) °C, after receiving wire of required size container of plastic alloys is removed, and final thermal treatment is carried out in vacuum for 240÷1,200 minutes.

EFFECT: obtaining in industrial conditions articles with a homogeneous structure, stable geometric parameters, high values of tensile strength (not less than 1,200 MPa) while maintaining a high level of relative elongation, high uniformity of deformation of the composite structure, low wear of the fiber.
