FIELD: metal forming.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in aircraft engine construction and power engineering in the manufacture of rod blanks from alloys based on titanium intermetallic compound with ortho-phase. By heating and pre-deforming the ingot, a billet is obtained, which is subjected to intermediate and final deformation. Preliminary deformation of the ingot and intermediate and final deformation of the billet are carried out by broaching according to the square→square pattern with a feed of at least 0.5 and a total degree of relative deformation of the ingot of at least 0.7.

EFFECT: increase in the level of mechanical and fatigue properties of the alloy is ensured due to the formation in the rod blank of a texture oriented along its axis.
