FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates, in particular, to manufacturing of tubular blanks from titanium pseudoα-alloys 5V or 37 of increased strength for ship engineering products and power plants. The method includes forging an ingot into a billet, machining it, through drilling an axial hole from the end face of the forged billet, heating to the extrusion temperature, and final vacuum annealing. First, no more than four forgings are carried out with heating of the ingot in the temperature range Tpp+(40÷150)° C with a total degree of deformation of 40%, and then at least two forgings of blanks are carried out in the temperature range Tpp-(30÷90)°C with a degree of deformation from 10 to 40% depending on the diameter of the final workpiece. After through drilling of the axial hole, a graphite-lubricated copper coating is applied to the inner and outer surfaces of the workpiece. Next, the workpiece is heated to a temperature of Tpp-(50÷200)°C and extruded into a tubular billet. The final recrystallization vacuum annealing is carried out at a temperature of Tpp-(150÷200)°C for 60-400 min with cooling of the pipe billet in a furnace to a temperature of 130÷170°C.
EFFECT: consumption of metal is reduced due to the extrusion operation and a more uniform structure of tubular blanks is obtained throughout the volume.
