FIELD: gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of creating an object for underground storage of natural gas in water-bearing geological structures and, in particular, to physical and chemical methods of controlling movement of gas-water contact (GWC) when extracting gas from an underground gas storage in such structures. In water-bearing geological structure drilling of design number of production wells is performed in summary area of water-bearing structure and in central part one multi-hole well drilled to level of design GWC, through which side horizontal branches are made with number 2 and more at level of design GWC. Through the production wells, injection of natural gas is performed before GWC hypsometric marks are achieved, after which water solution of foam-forming surfactants is injected into the central well with horizontal branches into the gas-water contact area, and then pumping of natural or non-hydrocarbon gas, close in its physical and chemical properties to natural gas. Volumes of water solution of foaming surfactants and gas are selected in such proportions that in reservoir conditions form, at mechanical mixing at their combined filtration, design value of stable low-permeable surface screen. Volumes of water solution of foaming surfactants and natural or non-hydrocarbon gas are in ratio 1:1÷6.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of efficiency of natural gas storage due to increase of active gas volume and prolongation of mode of water-free operation of underground gas storage facility at increased rates of gas withdrawal.
