FIELD: oil and gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to creation of underground gas storage in natural geological conditions due to displacement of one medium—water of underground reservoir, with another medium—gas intended for storage in underground conditions. Gas to be stored in said formation replaces water of said formation. Ionogenic surfactant is injected through the injection-production well connected to the water-bearing reservoir in the zone of the designed underground gas storage. Ionogenic surfactant is pumped in pressure pulsation mode, which provides dissociation of surfactant ions in formation water. Thereafter, a nonionic surfactant is pumped, which forms with the ionic surfactant a binary coarse-grained gas-water emulsion with a given characteristic number, taking into account the ratio of said surfactants, their concentration and interaction conditions to ensure maximum use of the reservoir properties of the water-bearing reservoir. At the same time empirical dependence of the water displacement index from the water-bearing reservoir on the specified characteristic number based on the experimental data is used.

EFFECT: increased efficiency of UGS creation in water-bearing reservoir due to increased coefficient of water displacement by gas.
