FIELD: lighting.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a LED lighting system and a method of controlling a LED lighting system. Result is achieved by the fact that LED lighting system (1) comprises wireless communication device (11, 12) for wireless signal transmission (D10_11, D11_12, D4_12, D5_12) between LED lighting system (1) devices (10, 11, 12); at least one LED lamp (10) connected to a power supply source (2), wherein LED lamp (10) comprises driver device (100) with control unit (102) for controlling LED lamp (10) according to the received signal (D10_11); phase cut detector configured to detect an input signal (Vcut) with phase cutoff for LED lamp (10); and protection circuit configured to prevent operation of LED lamp (10) with input signal (Vcut) with phase cutoff, if phase cutoff angle of input signal (Vcut) with phase cutoff exceeds a critical threshold, wherein said protection circuit is designed to prevent the effect of the input signal with phase cutoff on the LED lamp. Invention further describes LED lamp (10) comprising driver device (100) and a method of controlling a LED lighting system (1).

EFFECT: preventing premature failure or unsatisfactory operation of LED lamps as part of existing lighting devices.
