FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to instrumentation and is intended for testing of protective relays. Summary: test device (4) comprises signal generator (G), which outputs signal (S) in form of pulses (P) with times (T1, T2, T3, T4, T5) pauses. Signal (S) pulses (P) and pauses times (T1, T2, T3, T4, T5) alternate in time. At times (T1, T2, T3, T4, T5) of pause signal (S) height is reduced, and at least one pulse (P) has a higher amplitude than at least one of previous pulses (P). Amplitudes of pulses (P) can increase monotonically and in general should tend to increase in order to reach threshold (SS) switching. Test device (4) is equipped with supply voltage (UV) from accumulator (5), which provides electric energy for generation of pulses (P).
EFFECT: providing higher mobility and flexibility due to use of accumulator, possibility to refuse from generator sets or emergency generating sets fueled with fuel, reduced level of average energy required for testing due to that signal generator (G) outputs signal (S) in form of pulses (P) with pause times, possibility of using more compact accumulators.
