FIELD: transportation.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to methods of packing railway wheels for their transportation to long distances and long-term storage and devices for their implementation. To achieve said technical result, disclosed is a method of packing railway wheels, including installation of lower shell of protective cover, successive assembly of railway wheels, installation of upper cup of protective cover, at that material with implanted volatile corrosion inhibitor is arranged between wheels to be sealed after installation of top bowl. In order to implement method of packing railway wheels, versions of packing for railway wheels are proposed. According to the first version, the package contains a flexible protective cover consisting of two bowls; besides, it contains gaskets with implanted volatile corrosion inhibitor, which are laid between railway wheels, and upper and lower bowls are made from woven polyolefin web laminated with polyolefin layer. According to the second version, the package consists of two bowls, and contains gaskets with implanted volatile corrosion inhibitor, which are laid between railway wheels, and upper and lower bowls are made of polyethylene film reinforced with mesh, with attached to inner layer of bowls material with implanted volatile corrosion inhibitor.

EFFECT: ensuring safety of railway wheels due to absence of corrosion damage of wheels during transportation and long-term storage.
