FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming and can be used at rolling of cast slabs in rough stands of hot-rolling mill. Method involves rolling in two passes, in the first pass, workpiece is reduced with height h in rolls with wave-like barrel profile, and on second surface roll body with smooth surface. After the first pass, lengthwise heights and recesses of cylindrical shape are formed along the entire length on the workpiece surface due to the fact that rolls of the metal roll are moving in the cavity of its recesses at introduction of the ribs. Subsequent passage is performed in rolls with smooth barrel, at that, metal flows in reverse direction and provides for sign-changing metal flow with insignificant changes of initial billet dimensions. On surface of workpiece 1 wave-like profile is formed in the form of in-series arranged protrusions and equally-height cylindrical shape recesses hp=(0.75÷0.1)·h, length l=(5…6)·hp and radius r=(l2-h2p)/4·hp. In squeezing the workpiece in rolls with a smooth barrel by an absolute reduction amount equal to Δh = 2hp, surface of workpiece 2 is levelled.
EFFECT: ensuring uniform distribution of the degree of deformation in the volume of rolled metal and excluding the probability of formation of nonmetallic inclusions and liqueves of string form.
