FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming and can be used for production of thick sheets and strips from continuous-cast slab. Proposed method comprises heating continuously cast billet to temperature of austenitization with subsequent roughing and finishing rolling in reversing stand "5000". Possibility of intensification of sign-variable deformation, as well as reduction of power consumption at rough rolling is provided due to fact that slab is profiled on vertical hydraulic press without changing its length by molding with specified value of reduction of ledges and recesses with cylindrical shape of surface. When reducing the slab on the vertical hydraulic press, the workpiece height under the collars of the die is reduced by the value ΔH, which is equal to absolute reduction of workpiece. Metal under collars is forced out into cavities of pits of press die, where workpiece height is increased by value ΔH. Then strip is squeezed in smooth rolls of reversible stand "5000".
EFFECT: disclosed is method of producing thick sheet from continuously cast slab.
