SUBSTANCE: invention relates to municipal services and can be used for rapid cleaning of snow with its elimination from territory of streets, roads and squares of settlement. Method for rapid removal of snow from streets, roads and squares of settlements consists in using containers similar in design to containers used for collection of domestic wastes, which are placed along streets, roads, around areas. Garbage truck is equipped with water tank with heating element. When snow falls, public utilities workers rake it and load it into containers. Driver pours the tank with water and includes a heating element, which when the garbage truck moves to the containers water is heated. During movement along the snow-filled containers, hot water is poured into each portion, as the snow is melted in the container. During the return movement of the garbage truck, water is poured from melted snow of each container into a sealed housing of the garbage truck and water is removed from melted snow outside the locality.
EFFECT: release of citizens from labor-intensive operation of redeployment of snow masses from streets, roads and squares.
