SUBSTANCE: invention relates to molded billets and a method of treating 2,5-furanedicarboxylic acid (FDCA) based polymers. Disclosed are preforms and methods of treating polymers based on 2,5-furanedicarboxylic acid (FDCA), for example, poly(ethylene-2,5-furandicarboxylate (PEF)) to obtain preformed blanks and articles, such as containers. Present invention also includes preformed workpieces with excellent process characteristics and containers, such as beverage bottles based on PEF, with excellent operational properties.
EFFECT: invention provides longer storage life of the article, obtaining containers from polymer based on FDCA, having operational characteristics similar to or exceeding those of the PET-based container.
