FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ultrasonic diagnostics, and can be used for ultrasonic diagnostics of retroperitoneal visceral obesity. Ultrasonic examination is performed in transverse scanning along the middle line of the body at level of 5 cm downwards from the xiphoid process. Distance between the posterior aortic wall and the anterior surface of the lumbar spine is determined. If distance between posterior aortic wall and front surface of lumbar spine is 4.3 ± 0.6 mm and more, retroperitoneal visceral obesity is diagnosed.
EFFECT: method provides objective diagnostics of retroperitoneal visceral adiposity, accurate localization of adipose tissue growth in retroperitoneal space in retroperitoneal visceral adiposity by determining the distance between the posterior aortic wall and the anterior surface of the lumbar spine.
