SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine, specifically to ultrasonic diagnostics, and can be used for ultrasonic examination of the quadriceps muscle of thigh in patients with obesity. Depending on the type of obesity, ultrasonic examination is performed in 1 or 2 stages. First stage involves estimating a portion of musculoskeletal mass in relation to fat weight and total body weight, and estimating the integrity of the muscular pattern. Second stage involves additional muscle compression sonoelastography. Derived data are used to evaluate the skeletal muscle structure and weight.

EFFECT: methods make it possible to determine the presence of myosteatosis, sarcopenia, dynapenia, osteopenia in a patient with obesity due to the ultrasonic assessment of the structure, thickness and elasticity of the rectus and intermediate vastus muscle of thigh, skeletal muscles, determining the ratio of muscular and subcutaneous fat in the region of interest, as well as determining the weight reduction of the quadriceps muscle of thigh.
