FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing active coal based on polymer composite materials and can be used in liquid-phase and gas-phase sorption technologies. Starting material used is a solid polyamide composite with a binder which is impregnated with a potassium hydroxide solution. Coefficient of impregnating composite with potassium hydroxide is 1:(1.4–1.6). Further, heat treatment is carried out at heating rate of 10–15 °C/min to final temperature 650–720 °C. Raw material used is a solid composite containing 75–80 wt% polyamide-benzimidazole fibers and 20–25 wt% of epoxy resin ED-20 as binder, milled to grain size of 0.5–3.0 mm.
EFFECT: invention increases adsorption capacity of active coal during sorption of benzene and toluene from water.
