FIELD: adsorbents manufacture.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the manufacture of adsorbents from coal raw materials. The method for producing crushed active coal includes crushing coal raw materials, carbonization at a temperature rise rate of 5-15°C/min, and activation with water vapor at a temperature of 850-900°C. The raw material used is coal with a volatile matter yield of 40-50 wt.%. Carbonization is carried out at 700-800°C with isothermal exposure at a final temperature of 30-90 minutes. Activation is carried out at a flow rate of 8-10 kg of water vapor per 1 kg of activated carbon.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase the adsorption activity of the resulting activated carbon when extracting ethylbenzene from water.
