FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in production of aluminum coagulant used in water treatment. To obtain aluminum hydroxochlorosulphate, aluminum sulfurous salt in form of crystalline hydrate – aluminum sulphate Al2(SO4)3⋅18H2O or aluminum alum R2SO4⋅Al2(SO4)3⋅24H2O, where R is K or NH4+, treated with gaseous ammonia. Obtained reaction mass is subjected to aqueous treatment to form a suspension. Suspension of aluminum hydroxo sulphate which is dissolved in 25–37 % hydrochloric acid at temperature of 70–110 °C is extracted from suspension for 0.5–2 hours to obtain a solution of aluminum hydroxochlorosulphate.
EFFECT: invention reduces number of operations, reduces power consumption and volume of material flows, increases extraction of aluminum into the end product.
