FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of chemical technology and can be used to obtain γ-aluminium oxide used in the manufacture of catalysts, sorbents, desiccants, etc. Aluminum potassium or ammonia alum is treated with gaseous ammonia, the ammonization product is leached with water, a hydrated precipitate is separated from the resulting suspension, which is treated with a solution of ammonium carbonate or ammonium bicarbonate containing 2–4 mol/l [NH4]+. Processing hydrated sediment is carried out at W:T=10–20:1 and a temperature of 105–125 °C for 6–30 hours. Resulting aluminum-containing precipitate is separated, washed with water and dried. After drying, the aluminum-containing precipitate is calcined at a temperature of 500–600 °C for 1–4 hours to obtain γ-aluminum oxide.
EFFECT: method allows to get γ-aluminium oxide with a content of impurity alkaline elements reduced to 0,004 % and up to 0,003 % of sulfur trioxide impurity, as well as an increased specific surface area of up to 430 m2/g and increased to 0,81 cm3/g porosity of particles.
