FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a technology for processing natural raw material to obtain a complex aluminium-containing coagulant in form of a solid product and use thereof in industrial and domestic water purification processes. Method includes opening of mineral concentrate with sulphuric acid at constant stirring with subsequent separation of solid part and curing by adding a solution of a stoichiometric amount of aluminium hydroxide in the form of a suspension in water in terms of unreacted sulphuric acid and spontaneous crystallisation into the concentrate formed after opening the concentrate. Raw material used is perovskite, or arizonite, or ilmenite, or sphenic concentrate, treatment is carried out with 80–93 % sulphuric acid at ratio of solid phase in grams to liquid phase in millilitres of 1–(1–5) for 1–4 hours at temperature 160–200 °C.
EFFECT: technical result consists in development of technology of obtaining complex coagulant from alternative sources of mineral raw material with high content of active component and high efficiency of reagent with respect to organic compounds.
