FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of producing compounds of complex oxides with a garnet structure, solenated by rare-earth elements, which can be used in the technology of synthesis of optical ceramic materials of laser quality when creating active bodies of solid-state lasers of different geometry. Method of reducing particle size and degree of agglomeration at the stage of synthesis of precursor in producing aluminium yttrium pomegranate involves preparing an initial solution of yttrium chlorides, aluminium, ytterbium and erbium with given composition based on formula YAG: Yb (15 at.%)/Er (3 at.%) by dissolving chlorides in water while heating, followed by introduction of ammonia into aqueous solution, decantation in deionised water, filtration, subsequent drying and grinding, wherein solutions of initial chlorides contain ammonium persulphate with concentration from 0 to 1.0 mol/l, preferable concentration of ammonium persulphate from 0.02 to 0.15 mol/l.

EFFECT: on the basis of obtained precursors optical ceramic with optical transmission from 72 to 82 % is obtained.
