SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a grid assembly for suspending a ceiling panel, versions of a ceiling system, versions of a saddle bracket for such systems, a ceiling panel device and a mounting bracket assembly for supporting a ceiling panel. For example, a grid assembly for suspending a ceiling panel comprises a supporting grid comprising at least one beam comprising a flange portion, a rib portion extending upwardly from the flange portion, a head portion on the rib portion, wherein the head portion has a lower surface; a saddle bracket comprising a horizontal locking device, a vertical locking device, a panel mounting device and a rib receiving cavity; wherein the saddle bracket is mounted on the beam so that the beam rib portion is located in the rib receiving cavity and the vertical seat locking device is engaged with the head surface lower surface, thereby locking the saddle bracket on the beam along the vertical line; and a device for horizontal locking of the seat arm arranged to displace between: (1) a first state in which the saddle bracket can slide on the beam while remaining locked vertically on the beam, and (2) a second state in which the horizontal locking member is engaged with the beam rib portion, thereby locking the saddle bracket on the beam horizontally.
