FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: ceiling system comprises a pair of spaced upper longitudinal support elements of the grid and a lightweight ceiling panel suspended thereon. Panel may be an acoustic cellular panel in one embodiment. Local elongated reinforced areas or sections are formed on upper lining, which support multiple holders mounted on each section. Reinforced sections coincide in arrangement with arrangement of supporting elements and structurally reinforce upper lining in selected areas. In one embodiment, each reinforced section may comprise a stiffening plate attached to the upper lining. Ceiling panel is suspended from longitudinal supporting elements of grid by holders and reinforced sections. Fixing elements can be used for attachment of holders to reinforced sections, which resist to output, when panel is suspended. In certain embodiments reinforced sections extend in longitudinal direction through central section of panel to prevent sagging between sides of panel.

EFFECT: disclosed are a ceiling mounting system and a corresponding method.
