FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to light-reflecting pigments for use in composition of coatings of "solar reflectors" class, which can be used for passive thermal protection of spacecrafts. Pigment is obtained by synthesis in an autoclave at temperature of 220 °C, pressure 22–23 atm for 2.5–3.0 hours calcium hydrosilicate in an aqueous medium using sodium silicate with a silicate module SiO2/Na2O=1 or silicon dioxide SiO2⋅nH2O and sodium hydroxide NaOH taken in appropriate amounts, and calcium chloride CaCl2⋅2H2O, taken in 1.1–1.5-fold excess from stoichiometrically required. Reaction product is separated, dried at 80–85 °C and its heat treatment at 1,200–1,300 °C for 2–4 hours to obtain powder containing high-temperature phases of wollastonite.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of formation of high-temperature phases of wollastonite required to obtain radiation-resistant pigments and coatings based on them, high stability of obtained coatings to mechanical effects with simultaneous simplification of method and shorter time for its implementation.
