SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of determining coordinates of an aircraft relative to an airstrip. Method consists in sequential photoexposure of the earth's surface with a camera mounted on 3-gimbal suspension mounted on an aircraft, at that, digitized images of three ground-based laser beacons with known coordinates are obtained, image positions on the photo matrix of two frontal located on the runway of three laser beacons are stabilized, coordinates of aircraft relative to runway are determined.

EFFECT: method of determining coordinates of an aircraft relative to an airstrip is disclosed.
