SUBSTANCE: invention relates to engine cooling. Internal combustion engine cooling system comprises coolant intake to engine and return circuit to return coolant from engine to inlet, wherein the return circuit comprises a radiator branch and a bypass branch, and also comprises a degassing branch connected to the degassing tank, and flow control means configured to separately open/close the degassing branch, respectively, to ensure/prevent flow of coolant into degassing tank. Invention covers also methods of cooling internal combustion engine, which contain functioning of flow control means for independent opening/closing of degassing branch of return circuit to ensure/prevent flow of cooling agent into degassing tank.
EFFECT: invention provides removal of gases from coolant.
