SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to control devices diagnostics. For this purpose, a diagnostic device is proposed, which is physically connected to a control device in a process control system and includes an accelerometer which determines that movement or vibration of the control device exceeds a predetermined threshold value. When such state is recognized, one or more other components of the diagnostic device are activated, wherein using activated components from the diagnostic device an alarm is transmitted. Therefore, working cycles of components of the diagnostic device are reduced and optimized, which leads to significant energy saving.
EFFECT: technical result is reduction of power consumption for diagnostics of control device.
