FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to catalyst particles, reactors containing a layer of such catalyst particles and chemical reactions catalysed by said catalyst particles. Described is a catalyst particle for treating a fluid in the form of a three-dimensional ellipsoid having three main axes, wherein at least two main axes have a different length, having at least one channel inside the particle, extending from a first position on the surface of the particle through the interior of the particle to a second position on particle surface. Catalyst layer comprises a plurality of catalyst particles described, which are packaged together inside a reservoir, where said catalyst layer comprises empty spaces between catalyst particles in addition to catalyst particles, and said empty spaces between particles form channels between particles, through which fluid can flow. Disclosed is a method for carrying out a chemical reaction, where at least one initial chemical compound is contacted with said catalyst layer to form at least one obtained chemical compound. Method of treating a fluid mixture for selectively removing one or more target components of said mixture comprises bringing said fluid into contact with a packed layer comprising said catalyst layer, so that at least part of said target components passes from said fluid mixture into said catalyst particles.

EFFECT: technical result is improved control of streams of media and chemical reactions in catalyst layers.
