FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemistry. The reaction container of the catalytic reactor is filled with a ruthenium catalyst. The filling height level of the catalyst is set higher than the level at which fluid material is fed. The fluid material used is a mixed gas primarily containing a hydrocarbon, an oxygen-containing gas and steam. Synthesis gas containing hydrogen and carbon monoxide is obtained. Molar ratio (C/O2) of carbon contained in the hydrocarbon gas and oxygen contained in the oxygen-containing gas being fed into the reaction container is monitored, and the feeding of the oxygen-containing gas into the reaction container is stopped before the molar ratio C/O2 drops below a critical molar ratio at which the dispersion of ruthenium in the ruthenium catalyst occurs.
EFFECT: invention enables timely prevention of the dispersion of the ruthenium catalyst and stabilisation of the process.
