SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a suspension unit and a method of gripping and transporting sausage loops by means of a guide rail and hooks moving in a closed loop along the guide rail, wherein the guide rail has an elongated front side and an opposite rear side. Guide rail is installed on movable support with possibility of rotation around axis of rotation with provision of inclination relative to horizontal plane so that front side is at higher level than rear one.
