FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to control of fuel quality, in particular, to determination of maximum temperature of diesel fuel application by simulation of process of low-temperature fuel stratification occurring in fuel tanks of machines. Method comprises dividing said sample from mechanical impurities and water into three parts. In the first part, the turbidity value is determined, in the second part – the filterability maximum temperature (FMT), and the third part is subjected to the accelerated low-temperature stratification process, using the turbidity temperature value during the process simulation, determined in the first portion of the sample, and the FMT value determined in the second portion of the sample. FMT of the lower layer of the third portion of the sample held in the cryostat at a temperature equal to the FMT of the second portion of sample for 16 hours is taken as the maximum application temperature.
EFFECT: higher reliability of estimation of maximum temperature of diesel fuel use due to approximation to operating conditions.
