Device for determining a rational program of maintenance and operation of an article comprises a pulse generator, a reversible time counter, a device for calculating, storing and outputting the probability of failure-free operation of the article, accumulating adders, adders, multiplier units, comparison unit, divider units, unit of OR elements, units of AND elements, registers for recording initial data and output register. In addition, the composition includes a counter with a conversion factor of seven, a decoder, a unit for calculating the sum of an infinitely decreasing progression, an OR element, devices for calculating, storing and outputting the probability of failure of the article.

EFFECT: higher accuracy of determination of duration of inspections of functioning of items taking into account resource consumption over average service life.
