SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a system for controlling a computing device. System for controlling a computing device comprises a computing device with a display configured to display a graphical user interface; digital stylus configured to capture colour from the surface of the working medium and wirelessly transmit data relating to the captured colour to the computing device, wherein the computing device is configured to determine whether the digital stylus pen is using the drawing application on the graphical user interface, and in the first case, when the digital stylus actuates the drawing application, highlight the drawing application portions with the captured colour, and in the second case, when the digital stylus does not use the drawing application, determine whether said colour is related to the control function related to the computing device, and realize this control function on the computing device.

EFFECT: broader functional capabilities of controlling a computing device using colour-based digital stylus pens.
