FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to selective catalytic reduction and methods of selective reduction of nitrogen oxides, more specifically to exhaust gas system for treating exhaust gas flow of an engine comprising NOx. Exhaust gas processing system for engine exhaust gas flow containing NOx includes an exhaust gas exhausting engine and a catalyst system comprising an article for selective catalytic reduction comprising an upstream zone comprising a first material of a molecular sieve promoted by iron, and downstream zone containing second material of molecular sieve promoted with copper. First and second molecular sieve materials have a block of double six-member rings. Engine exhaust gas flow processing method includes engine exhaust gas flow processing comprising NOx, using an exhaust gas treatment system comprising an article for selective catalytic reduction comprising two zones, including (1) an upstream SCR zone which does not contain copper-promoted zeolite, said upstream zone is used to minimize formation of N2O; and (2) a downstream SCR core, containing a molecular sieve promoted with copper, having a double block of six-member rings. Catalytic system is effective for reducing NOx levels. Upstream SCR zone contains a material of a molecular sieve promoted by iron, having a double block of six-member rings. Exhaust gas flow processing method includes the engine exhaust gas flow passage through the exhaust gas processing system, so that the NOx conversion makes at least 75 %.
EFFECT: technical result of the group of inventions is reduction of NOx emissionsby 90–93 % and improvement of ecology in atmosphere.
