SUBSTANCE: invention relates to products and systems for selective catalytic reduction (SCR) for use in treatment of exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine. Method of activating powder of iron-containing molecular sieve involves adding iron to molecular sieve to form an iron-containing molecular sieve. Further, the iron-containing molecular sieve powder is calcined by steam at temperature of 650–750 °C for 20 minutes to 2 hours in the presence of water vapor. Steam-activated iron-containing molecular sieve is a fine-pored molecular sieve with 8-member rings. Obtained steam-activated iron-containing molecular sieve is used in catalytic coatings in articles for selective catalytic reduction.
EFFECT: enabling increase in the degree of conversion of NOx while reducing formation of N2O.
