SUBSTANCE: invention relates to device (300) and a method for liquid-jet laser processing. Device comprises processing head (1) for input of laser beam (100) into jet (200) of liquid. Processing head (1) comprises optical unit (2) with at least one optical element (20, 21.1, ..., 21.4) for focusing of laser beam (100) and input unit (3) with liquid chamber (32) restricted with a wall, wherein nozzle (33) with nozzle opening (37) is formed in the wall to form liquid jet (200). In the state in which input unit (3) is connected to optical unit (2), laser beam (100) focused by optical unit (2) is directed towards the beam through liquid chamber (32) of input unit (3) into nozzle opening (37) and jet (200) of liquid passing in beam direction is introduced into formed nozzle (33). To supply liquid chamber (32) with liquid from optical unit (2) between optical unit (2) and input unit (3) liquid transition (50) is formed, wherein fluid transition (50) connected with optical unit (2) of input unit (3) is located in front of the latter in beam direction by optical element (20, 21.4) of optical unit (2) if viewed in beam direction.
