FIELD: sports.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field orientation and can be used in sports orientation. Compass for orienteering comprises a bulb with a magnetic needle and a board, to which is attached a strap for wearing a compass on a finger, wherein the board has a face-line of direction of movement, continuation of which passes through the center of the bulb; the board has a cut covering the middle part of the face line and an adjoining part of the plane of the board. In the cut between the line-line segments there is a color rectilinear thread on which there are two colored points with a distance between them of 1 cm.

EFFECT: improved readability of the map, minimization of error during movement on azimuth and reduction of time costs of a sportsman, which, in its turn, leads to achievement of a higher sport result.
