SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to the field of orienteering and can be used in orienteering. Orienteering is a sport in which participants with the help of a sports map and a compass must pass checkpoints (CP) located on the ground. Claimed compass for orienteering contains a flask with a magnetic arrow and a board to which a strap is attached to carry a compass on a finger, and the board has a face-line of direction of movement, the continuation of which passes through the center of the flask, in addition, the compass board has a second facet-line, perpendicular to the face-line of the direction of motion and located behind the bulb from it. In addition, the compass contains additional face-line direction of motion.
EFFECT: reducing the error in transferring the direction of movement from the compass to the terrain.
