FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to thermophysical measurements and can be used for determination of thermophysical characteristics of materials and articles by non-destructive method by means of experimentally-calculated method of determining kinetic thermophysical properties of tested materials. Device for contactless determination of thermophysical properties of solid bodies (thermal diffusivity and thermal conductivity) includes a heater and a thermal imager connected to a computer. According to the invention, the heater is in form of a "point" heat energy source which generates a non-stationary temperature field. Non-stationary thermal picture is recorded on an accessible surface with a thermal imager as a system of concentric circular isotherms. "Point" heating is created on the platform with the size of about 1 mm2 laser with power of up to 30 W of visible or infrared range and adjustable pulse duration.
EFFECT: high accuracy of determining kinetic thermophysical characteristics of a metal.
