FIELD: measuring.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to thermophysical measurement. The field of application is determination of the thermophysical characteristics (TPCs) of materials and products by a non-destructive (sampleless) method by means of an experimental and computational method. Proposed is a method for determining the kinetic TPC of anisotropic materials and finished products therefrom, including a thermal impulse effect from a heating source on the surface of the studied product and further analysis of the non-stationary thermal pattern. Thermal heating is created by an external "point" power source localised on an area of approximately 0.1 mm2, and the evolution created in the controlled product of distribution of temperature on the surface of the product is recorded using a thermal imagery apparatus. According to the invention, the position of the heating centre in time is determined by averaging information from a large number of pixels of the matrix of the thermal imagery apparatus installed immovably relative to the heating centre. The evolution of distribution of temperature on the surface of the product therein constitutes ellipses with a centre coinciding with the heating centre, after which the results are analysed.

EFFECT: development of a simple method for express inspection and determination of kinetic TPCs of tested anisotropic materials (particularly, thermal diffusivity and conductivity) by analysing the non-stationary temperature field recorded by a thermal imagery apparatus on the outer surface of the studied material.
