FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an installation and a method of performing thermal denitrogenation of uranyl nitrate hydrate in order to obtain uranium trioxide. Proposed plant comprises burner, reaction chamber arranged at burner outlet and including uranyl nitrate hydrate inlet branch pipe of formula UO2(NO3)2⋅xH2O, where 2≤x≤6, wherein reaction chamber and burner are configured to perform thermal denitrogenation of uranyl nitrate hydrate and formation of uranium trioxide, having a shape of particles, separation chamber, which is a precipitation chamber, configured to separate part of particles of uranium trioxide from gases formed during thermal denitrogenation, and filter, made with possibility of separation of other part of particles of uranium trioxide from gases formed during thermal denitrogenation, for their cleaning and capable of separation at temperature above or equal to 350 °C.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain uranium trioxide particles with good output, having improved morphological characteristics.
