FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing isosorbide ethoxydate di (meth) acrylate by re-esterification of alkyl(meth)acrylate, selected from methyl- or ethyl (meth) acrylate, isosorbide ethoxylate, involving the following steps: (i) ethoxylation of isosorbide to form isosorbide ethoxylate, (ii) reacting said alkyl(meth)acrylate with isosorbide ethoxylate in the presence of potassium phosphate as a catalyst and a stabilizer and in the presence of an azeotrope agent which is an alkyl(meth)acrylate, selected from methyl- or ethyl(meth)acrylate, which forms an azeotrope with an alcohol bound in alkyl(meth)acrylate, (iii) continuously distilling the azeotrope from the azeotrope and alcohol, wherein steps (ii) and (iii) are carried out simultaneously until the isosorbide ethoxylate substantially completely reacts, (iv) separating catalyst from a mixture of products containing isosorbide ethoxylate di(meth)acrylate, (v) distilling off unreacted alkyl(meth)acrylate and an azeotrope agent from a mixture of products.
EFFECT: disclosed is a method of producing isosorbide ethoxylate di(meth)acrylate.
